Sonoplot Multimaterial Writer (Decommissioned)
Description: Multimaterial writer |
Manufacturer: Sonoplot |
About
The Sonoplot will be leaving the lab this summer. Please reach out to Brian Dincau if you think we should keep the Sonoplot here, or if you would like it transferred to your home lab.
The Sonoplot Multimaterial Writer is a microplotting instrument that uses ultrasonic vibrations in its nozzle to deposit small liquid volumes onto planar surfaces in discrete spots or continuous traces. The writer is capable of creating features as small as 5 microns and may be used to create biological microarrays or printed microelectronics.
Safety Concerns
- As with any automated machinery, make sure that your body is clear of the moving parts to avoid injury.
- The glass needle used to fill the liquid well is easily shattered, exercise caution when handling.
