-10/20/23 \\+After many frustrating hours, the **Haas Oil Retrofit is almost complete.** Today, we'll put the way covers back on, then wait 24 hours for the sealant to set. Tomorrow we can re-tram the vice and we're back in business!

-**We are ready to offer training on our [[wazer_waterjet | waterjet cutter]].** We will be limiting class sizes to two users per week, so please only request training if you expect to use the tool within a month or less.+The Wazer waterjet has a new, quieter pumpPlease report any issues to Brian Dincau.

-In our experience so far, it's a good tool for cutting materials which are 1/8" (3mm) or less, especially thin materials like sheet metal and carbon fiberSign up for training using the Training Signup Form linked below.+**Training classes will resume next week.** Please sign up this week if you want to be considered.

-**We have redesigned our silanization chamber.** The new chamber features polymer valves and fittings which should not corrode like the stainless steel fittings used in the previous chamber. The silane agent is also stored in a sealed glass container now, so we can easily see when it is running low. Please take a moment to [[vapor_silanation_rig_sop_new | review the new SOP]] before using the tool. Report any issue to the lab manager, and note them in the log book.+02/26/24 \\

+The **waterjet is back**. After disconnecting, draining, then reconnecting the pump, the pressure came back up and stabilized. If you use the waterjet in the next few weeks, please pay attention to the flow rate. If it drops dramatically, accompanied by a water-hammer sound, please pause the cut and contact the lab manager.

-The Trotec **laser cutter has been restored,** and may now be used again. After a thorough cleaning, we replaced the honeycomb bed and airjet lines. We also performed a few routine test cuts to make sure that the lens and positional accuracy were not affected.+02/23/24 \\

+The **waterjet is currently down.** The pump pressure is low and the pump is vibrating in an unhealthy way. We are working to restore the tool asap.
